Floor lamp
Hundreds of thousands of goods are shipped every day. Under the slogan “We ship design not
weight” Atelier Ferraro delves into the challenges of reducing the resources it takes to move
forniture from A to B.
The “Prakash” floor lamp lives up to its name (Sanskrit for “light”), combining a cozy glow with
a light-weight build. For transport it’s structure is disassembled into elements that form a compact
parcel ready for shipping. The weight of the object on the other hand is sourced locally:
the likes of stones, seeds, sand or water - whatever the user has on hand - get inserted into
the base of the lamp to stabilize it.
„Prakash“ constitutes Atelier Ferraros submission for the Salone Satellite Award 2023 under
the theme “Building the impossible”.
